“Hi God.”

2A9E94E3-8C9E-4D8D-835D-486FDDDFC099As we were driving home today

From the park where we ride bikes and play

I heard something that I’ll never forget

and you won’t either, it’s a sure bet.

I heard my son say, in his sweet little voice

Words that make me smile and rejoice!

My son said, “hello, God”

he waved and said, “mom, can you see?

I see God, and he is waving at me.

“Hello God,” he said again with a smile,

“Mom, Do you see him?  Can you see?

That is GOD, I love him, and He is waving at me.”

and I looked back and his face was glowing

The pure love between a child and GOD was showing

I swallowed real hard, my heart erupted with joy

That sums up my son’s heart, my precious little boy

We have taken him to church since he was a baby

and his natural love for the Lord is not “maybe”

It’s sure and strong so pure and true

It’s just amazing, so I shared it with you.

Stuff like that has gotta be shared

‘cause that kinda thing just can’t be compared

to anything else in this life.

That’s normally filled with struggle n’ strife.

It’s so good to share the precious things,

the awe-filled wonder that children bring.

I wish I could see God just like my son.

If I turned off my mind would I become

Happy like him and look for God’s face?

Would I be happy inside of that space?

If we believed with a fraction of love

that comes from a child to God above

we would live better, and simpler lives

If we saw the world through a child’s eyes

Matthew 19:13-14

The Little Children and Jesus

13 Then people brought little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked them.

14 Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

  1. “If we believed with a fraction of love that comes from a child to God above, we would live better, and simpler lives–If we saw the world through a child’s eyes.” Brilliant writing! Your poem brought to mind our five-year old granddaughter whose tender faith in Jesus is made clear every time she prays. Indeed, we have much to learn from the children around us, including pure, enthusiastic, freely-expressed love for our Savior. P.S. Thank you also for becoming a follower of my blog, From the Inside Out. I pray you’ll find the posts meaningful whenever you’re able to visit. And now, to visit one of your ads… (😊)

    • Thanks Nancy. God bless you and thank you for your support. God is so good and it makes me feel fulfilled in my spirit to share His good Word. He changed my life for the better in every way. I’ll sing His praises forever.
It’s such a blessing to raise our children to love Him too. They teach us to love Him better all the time. 💕
