10 Day Detox Meals – Day 5

Good day to you all.  I have a question for you.  Do you know what 4 ounces looks like?  It looks like this:

That’s how much toxic waste I lost off my body yesterday.  I didn’t think I would lose much because I ate SO MUCH FOOD YESTERDAY.  But, I was wrong.  I lost 4 ounces!  Praise God!

I find it super rewarding to see visual representation of the weight I have lost.  Also, this is what 4 pounds looks like: Screen Shot 2018-08-23 at 9.43.25 AMScreen Shot 2018-08-23 at 9.43.25 AMScreen Shot 2018-08-23 at 9.43.25 AMScreen Shot 2018-08-23 at 9.43.25 AM

That’s how much weight I lost between day 1 and 4.  That’s huge!  It’s so rewarding because I know the less weight I carry, the less stress is placed on my knee when I walk.  That should equal less pain.  I pray the pain goes away without surgery this time.

Breakfast:

I made a massive batch of POWR Spread this morning with my new Ninja Touchscreen Blender!  What ease and success that was!  This time I made it with Walnuts, Cashews (organic, unsalted) Raisins, 1 tbsp Pumpkin Spice and a pouch of organic applesauce.

Many of the ingredients are organic and all 100% affordable!  That spread cost me approximately $6 and organic spreads at the Market are at least $10 a jar.  Making that spread is such an investment: for my wallet and my health.  Plus, it’s super fun cause you can change the recipe every time like I do!

The results of the blend were delicious and beautiful.  I feel really full and completely satisfied.  God is so good.

An interesting observation I made this morning on my coffee intake.  I will NEVER bash coffee.  I just noticed that my body wasn’t craving coffee.  I only took 2 sips and I didn’t really want more.  I wonder if this detox is creating a ton of natural energy and I’m going to rely less on caffeine?  HUMMM… It’s not rocket science everyone.

According to these sites, eating one apple provides you with almost twice the amount of kilojoule energy as 2 cups of coffee.

Healthy food = healthy, natural energy

Processed plastic food = dependence on synthetic energy

Coffee isn’t the best for us, but it sure tastes good.  Let’s see where this observation takes me.

I have an OPEN MIND when it comes to this Detox.  I am listening to God, obeying His instruction, going to Him for praise and help and rejoicing because He is keeping me strong.  My strength and spiritual power is growing everyday.  I am becoming a healthier and happier Katie.

Please let the knee pain go away soon, God.  I ask that specifically!  Amen.

Please pray that with me! Matthew 18:19-21 New International Version (NIV)

19 “Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”

I’ll update the rest of the meals tomorrow morning!  God Bless you!

Lunch:

I took the kids to the park today.  We spent time with my daughter’s best friend and her family.  It was a blast!I had a smoothie before we left – made with my new Ninja Touchscreen Blender!  That thing blows my mind!!! I can’t believe how powerful it is…almost scary.  I made my smoothie with some water, frozen organic strawberries and frozen blueberries.  It was super refreshing and delicious. Check that blender out in action!

We brought snacks with us to munch on while we played.  Organic cucumber “chips” to dip in our hummus cups, pouches of organic applesauce and organic unsalted cashews.  All of the snacks were delicious and very filling.

Dinner:

I love how all of the meals I am making can be re-purposed.  I am actually using my leftovers instead of throwing tons of uneaten food away like I used to.  I feel really good about that. It elevates the stress of investing so much time and energy into new meals.  I can just add different garnishes to add interest and pizzazz into my dinner meals.  I find that if my eyes and my tummy are both tantalized by the last meal of the day,  it reduces my cravings for late night snacking.

I plated my meal in layers.IMG_9655

I started with organic baby spinach, sliced organic cucumbers, sliced organic avacado, a dollop of red pepper hummus and a side of the left-over patty from last night.  That ended up being like the texture of bread which is super cool.  IMG_9656

I chopped up this chicken combination that I had baked the day before and added the leftovers from last night.  I combined the copped chicken and the leftovers in a frying pan to heat it up.  Then I placed it on top of my organic baby spinach.  I LOVE cold and hot combo plates.  They are so satisfying.  The meal was delicious and I had NO cravings for the rest of the night.  I was sure to be finished eating by 6pm so that my body could enjoy a nice fast through the night.  I drank 2 cups of water after eating.IMG_9614

A massive thank you to all of my awesome readers that have been so encouraging and following me through this detox journey!  This has been such a great learning experience.  I am staying so close to God, craving Him instead of food.  It’s been pretty cool.

Thank you God.  Thank you for Salvation.  Thank you for hope and my salvation.  Thank you for taking away the old Katie and giving me this new and beautiful life with you.

I pray that you would give strength to those that need it today.  I pray right now that if someone is reading this prayer, and is searching for answers, that you would give them a massive power shot right to the spot where the Holy Spirit needs to live.  Let them feel your presence for a second.  Let their whole bodies ignite with hope and love, cover them with happy goosebumps and fill them with your presence.

Let them know that YOU ARE REAL, YOU ARE NOT DEAD, YOUR’RE SURELY ALIVE!!!!!!

I love you.  I love you dear Lord.  Thank you for everything.  Amen.

John 14:6-7 New International Version (NIV)

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know[a] my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”
