You master all things
you set your mind to.
Nothing much
can overwhelm you.
The respect you gain
is a great shadow cast,
The strength you possess
cannot be past!
You rule your house
with gentle power.
With one stern look,
many do cower.
You’re a great leader
among the few.
That are brave enough
to do what you do!
Why is it so hard
I humbly ask?
Why is this
an impossible task?
To pick up your clothes
n’ put them away
When their dirty n gross
at the end of the day.
I see your underwear
all smelly, not clean
In a ball in the corner,
now that is just mean!
Why is this greater
than what must be done
Outside the house
when the battle needs won?
The shirt you wore,
all soaked with sweat
Is still on the back of that chair,
I do bet
Why do your socks
lay there in the hall?
Instead of the basket
over there by the wall,
In our master closet,
right next to our bath.
Did you not see
the clear-distinct path?
So I thought, I’ll outsmart him,
one will not do
I’ll buy three baskets, yes,
this story is true!
And yet, what do I see
on the floor in a pile?
All of your clothes,
thrown out ‘bout a mile!
Nothing inside
the basket is there.
Just watch me pull out
every last hair
On my stressed out noggin,
I’m at my last wit!
I can’t handle his laundry,
not one little bit!
Laundry.
haha. Ladies, can you relate to the entity all of it’s own? Man Laundry. It’s a real thing. I had no idea. Why is there a not-quite-dirty-yet pile? Why is the laundry basket only half-way full and the floor is covered within a 5 foot diameter? Why are there dirty socks stashed in secret hiding spots all around the house? Why is the sweaty shirt on the kitchen island where I prepare all of our food??? Why is that real? Why is his dirty underwear in the corner in my bathroom…(that’s a new thing). I can’t. handle. laundry.
Sorry guys, don’t click on that YouTube song…I was looking for a good one to add to my post, and my kids lost it when I found this one. They love it. YET I don’t… NO ONE dances like Cleopatra while finding the lost sock, and no intelligent man dumps more onto the pile. That man would lose his dessert for a month if he ever did that to me. Mom and daughter do not prance around in the clean clothes…on the floor. So many things are wrong about this video.
Laundry.
Man laundry sucks. I saw this sign on Pinterest the other day and I jumped for joy. I felt like I wasn’t alone in this world. I always felt unequal with all the other wives out there, like I was carrying around a secret burden no one else bore. Then I met my best friend. And she thinks the same way about laundry. Right then and there, I knew we were kindred spirits.
There are SO MANY design pictures are really positive and happy, Clean, fold, repeat. Wash, dry, sort. Whites, darks, delicates. 5 cents?!?!?! NO…not 5 cents. You say you pay me 5 cents for laundry and I’ll give you my 2 cents…grrrr. No world. This is not my life. I do not think any of those thoughts when I enter that small confined cell in my home. I think…LAUNDRY REALLY SUCKS. I’m buying that picture for my laundry room remodel. (spoiler alert!)
Laundry.
I must overcome. My laundry room lives in a small hallway that leads into our 2 car garage. It is a cold, narrow, claustrophobic space meant for pure torture. I am going to change that. I am going to make that space happy. I think if it was a pretty decor that I would have a lot less frustration when I enter into that dreaded room. I am going to decorate it with my own personal style. This makes me super excited.
Laundry.
I am going to conquer you some day. I will overcome some of the obstacles you have set in my path. I will win. As the Proverbs 31 woman suggests – I must “watch over the affairs of my household, and I won’t eat the bread of idleness.” I’m gunna laugh at the days to come, Laundry. You and I are going to be civil. Not besties…I just want civil.
She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come.
26 She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
27 She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.
28 Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:
29 “Many women do noble things,
but you surpass them all.”
30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
31 Honor her for all that her hands have done,
and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.
LOL Katie!! I love this poem and can relate, oh how I can !! 😂😇

I had to do a smell test today because my son wasn’t sure which socks strewn about were clean and which weren’t……but as for the underware I drew the line!! 😤😲😷

It’s all in good fun. He is the best husband ever. I would never change a thing about him. He just needs some laundry manners maybe..haha. It’s good to vent about real life situations. It makes it easier when we just laugh about it, right?!

“Why is there a not-quite-dirty-yet pile?” Right on, sister! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard, “don’t wash that, it’s not dirty,” after I picked up a garment crumbled up on the floor. Lol

You’re going to hate me for this…..my husband NEVER leaves anything lying around. Before you envy me,don’t. It’s hard to live with such a neat freak when you’re not. Very funny poem. I just can’t relate.
