THE DESTRUCTIVE POWER OF FOOD

Some of you say, “We can do anything we want to.” But I tell you not everything is good for us. So I refuse to let anything have power over me.

1 CORINTHIANS 6:12

I humbly remember that sin entered the world because food was tempting. It looked so tempting and delicious, yet, it promised something so sinful and destructive. What a complete let down. The result of eating something we shouldn’t was ultimately harsh and painful for all of humanity. Food is fuel. What am I fueling my body with? Am I focused on the redeeming power found in The Bread of Life, or the Living Water? Jesus redeemed the first sin by describing himself as food. We use food in our communion to remember that his body was broken and his blood destroys all sin and death. AMEN.

I choose to destroy the tempting and destructive worldly view on food. It creates obesity, disease, pain and depression. I am going to focus on Jesus and the power he has to heal my body and help me focus on the life he desires for me. He desires for me to be strong, courageous, bold and loving. He wants me to crave good fuel. That begins with a loving and tender walk with Him. Choosing The Bread of Life over junk. Amen.
