What Does the Bible Say about Being Silent about Evil? AKA – What does the Bible say about NOT VOTING.
Psalm 76:7-10
7 It is you alone who are to be feared.
Who can stand before you when you are angry?
8 From heaven you pronounced judgment,
and the land feared and was quiet—
9 when you, God, rose up to judge,
to save all the afflicted of the land.
10 Surely your wrath against mankind brings you praise,
and the survivors of your wrath are restrained.[a]
The Bible has a lot to say about being silent about evil. Remember, the Bible is clear and precise about how to live life exactly how God instructs. It is not simple to be silent. It is not innocent to not vote. It is a sin.
Simply being silent about evil isn’t a moral move. It is directly disobeying God.
Romans 12:21 tells us clearly: “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” We must speak about evil in order to act against it.
Leviticus 5:1 points out that staying silent about evil is a sin for which people will be held accountable: “If anyone sins because they do not speak up when they hear a public charge to testify regarding something they have seen or learned about, they will be held responsible.”
James 4:17 declares: “If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.” If we know that God is calling us to speak out against evil but choose to be silent despite that, we’re sinning.
Or what about The Parable of the Good Samaritan whom Jesus spoke about? Should you just ignore innocent lives suffering to die? What about all the innocent lives being murdered, and even worse if the democrats get elected again for another 4 years – their platform decrees that WOMEN HAVE A CHOICE TO MORE VIOLENT MURDER – abortion is murder folks. What person kills a baby after it is born? Sacrificing your child to your idol, your god of convenience and your god of a better life?
There is no way around that choice. There is no way around that sin. There is no judgement worse than causing a little one pain – Matthew 18:6-7
““If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea. Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to stumble! Such things must come, but woe to the person through whom they come!
What Does it Mean to Be Silent about Evil?
Sin surrounds us from the moment we are born, because we are born into a fallen world that is continually falling. Sin seems to be winning lately, do you not agree?
But do we speak up about it, or do we stay silent? What does the Bible say about speaking out against evil?
Speaking out against evil is scary and challenging. When was the last time you had to speak out?
You don’t even have to open your mouth however, you don’t have to say anything. All you have to do is register online and mail in a ballot. Your actions matter. You actions can change things. You could be a Daniel, an Esther, a Joseph.
You could see in 2024 how God can take what the enemy meant for evil and turn it for GOOD, to save the lives of many. GENESIS 50:20
Should we speak up or not when we witness something wrong, like lying or bullying? Do you ignore your child when they are doing wrong?
How should we respond to news stories of evil, such as violence and corruption, raging in our world? When was the last time you were on your knees in prayer?
What does the Bible say about being silent about evil in this nation?
What are the Consequences in being Silent about Evil?
Being silent about evil means ignoring the opportunities God gives us to do something redemptive in the evil situations we encounter. BEING SILENT means choosing to not vote when election time rolls around. VOTING IS YOUR GOD-GIVEN RIGHT.
It means being blind and ignorant to the fact that America is a nation based on a Constitution that states, WE THE PEOPLE, FOR THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE. We are not a dictatorship – well, not yet. That is what sin is striving for-complete power-no freedom.
Our government is run by THE PEOPLE, not a president. We are not voting for a man or a woman, we are voting for 2 very different sets of policies, which are REPRESENTED by a president, whose boss is YOU – WE THE PEOPLE.
We have a CHOICE to vote for one or the other, and when you DON’T VOTE at all, you are CHOOSING to ignore the evils you could have prevented.
Being silent involves neglecting to bring attention to evil that’s happening, rather than speaking up about it and taking action for what you know is moral and right because you have read your Bible.
Americans need to stop being ignorant. They need to know how their country is run. We were founded by people fleeing from monarchial rule. Who bled sweat and tears to establish a country that was based on freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom to peacefully protest, freedom to bear arms against our government when they become corrupt, freedom to live in peace, freedom.
When you CHOOSE to NOT VOTE, you are spitting in the faces of those who died to secure your freedoms – both then and now.
When we choose to be silent about evil, and NOT VOTE – we are NOT going to stop it. Shamefully, we are helping that evil situation progress. Shamefully we are letting sin win.
Being silent about evil is sinfully agreeing with that evil. When will we realize that our passive silence is actually an active choice to support evil? Will that Biblical fact motivate us to stop being silent about it?
Do we really fear God and His Righteous Judgement? Have we not read, Isaiah, Ezekiel, Jeremiah? What wooden god do you fear more than the righteous anger of a Just and Powerful God Who has the power to hold back the walls of the raging ocean, Who causes rain to fall, and holds back the devastation of war and famine?

I will repeat what the Bible says about being silent – because in the words of Jesus, “have you not read the Holy Scriptures?”

I am going to be clear before I go.
There are 2 options – whether you like it or not this election – Republican or Democrat.
It does not surprise me that Republican makes me think “Righteous” and Democrat makes me think “demonic”.
The Republican Party leans more toward BIBLICAL standards and morals. The Republican party is made up of people, who are not perfect, but whose party still holds to what is left of the Constitution and fragments of morality in this ever-falling-sinful-world. Take an honest look in the mirror and don’t forget what you look like when you walk away. You are not perfect and the Republican party should not be mocked more than you should be mocked, dear Christian.
There is NONE righteous, no not ONE. Romans 3:10
