The blessings of the Bible are already there. They are ripe for the picking. You do not have to search for them. You are not lost.
Seek first, the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and ALL these things will be added unto you. Matthew 6:33
If you seek God FIRST in ALL you do, seek Jesus and HIS righteousness, then all the good stuff will come. Hang on Katie, your scaring me, this is sounding kind a prosperity. Ouch, y’all, you know me better.
Jeremiah 17:24 – IF you keep the Sabbath – THEN I will not destroy you with fire
The Israelites were taking things to the temple to sell – they were greedy and money hungry and not keeping the Sabbath sacred and holy – they were treating the crowds gathering to worship as a great path towards their “best lived life”.
Na, not for me – that in itself expresses the issue. Were they seeking Christ first? No, the intent of their heart was as easy to read as the greed on their face. Seek Him first, and HIS righteousness and ALL these things will be added unto you.
Keep the Sabbath day Holy – and I’ll not kill you with fire.
The “but” is always there. IF you keep HIS Word in your heart and follow the 2 commands Jesus has given us – Love the Lord your God with your whole heart and love your neighbor as yourself – then the blessings of the Bible will be granted to you. You will see your children, and your children’s children and their children, to the 3rd n 4th generation love Jesus too.
You will see fruit in your life – bringing others to Christ, bearing one another’s burdens, getting involved in ministry, you will see broken relationships heal, you will be generous with your time and your money, you will start inviting people into your home, you will start speaking Jesus’ name to everyone you talk to, you will be bold, fearless, faithful, you will have a wonderful marriage, your children will love you, you will read your Bible and pray without saying Amen because your thoughts and your attitude are talking to your Father all day long, you will find JOY in all circumstances, you will be patient, kind and truthful, you will see Jesus in everything you think, say, and do.
That my friend, is prosperity. Those are the blessings of the Bible. Seek Him first, and HIS righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you.
You will never understand the peace that surpasses all understanding if you open your Bible to find out how to be successful in your business. Your “best life” isn’t found in money and careers and stuff and houses and cars and travel and all the gauntlet of things you can get with dollars. Your greatest blessings are found in seeking Christ first, and being obedient to the 2 greatest commands from Jesus – love him deeply and passionately, and love others like you love HIM.
I hope you found what you were looking for. Start in the Johns of the Bible. Rest in them. Drink them in slowly. Know you are reading the true essence of what love really is. God is love – He is a big kinda love that covers everything like the most comfortable blanket you could ever imagine. He covers your insecurities, your doubt, he covers your pain and your sorrows of your past, he covers your mind-numbing internal chatter, he covers your habits.
It all happens in healthy baby steps too, that are not scary. Nothing about Jesus is scary. He is patient and kind. He holds your hand before he tells you to take your first step. Your hand is cold and clammy. His is warm and dry. You rest there in that moment – knowing He is holding it.
One day, you will feel his hand and you will say – I’m ready now Jesus. I’m ready to take my first step. I tried a bunch on my own, but I always ended up falling down, and falling hurt – a lot. But I can see you haven’t let go. From the time I felt you holding my hand (He was always holding it – you just had to realize it), you haven’t let go like everything and everyONE else did. You are still there, I was so terrible to you too. I have been denying you for a really long time. But I can still feel you. You are still there, from the day I met you. I see you now. I feel your love. I’m ready now Jesus, can you please help me?
And you take your first step with Him. It’s better than you ever imagined, cause not only did he have your hand, but as you began to shift your weight to stand, he grabbed your elbow and wrapped his arm around your shoulders, his hip pushed you up as you lost your balance and began to fall. You are now standing tall and you feel him holding you so tight – like the best hug you have ever felt in your life. He is there, and you know in your heart that this is the rest of your life – for eternity. You finally are whole.
Those are the blessings that are waiting for you, friend. The blessings of the Bible are already there. Stop searching for them like buried treasure. Oh taste and see that God is good, blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him – Psalm 34:8
You alone are worthy, oh Lord, to receive glory and honor and praise. I love you Jesus, so, so much…
