what is Electricity?
it’s the movement of tiny
particles called electrons.
and when these electrons flow,
it’s amazing to know
it’s called current electricity,
which powers everything
from light bulbs so we can see
to computers and cars
and your tv
how amazing is electricity!

A simple way to see electricity
in action is static electricity,
like the feeling of a small shock
after we quickly walk
on a fuzzy carpet floor
have you done that before?

the charges build up
on surfaces that rub together.
and then you touch my arm
and yikes!
but there’s no harm
just a fuzzy little feeling
it doesn’t send you to the ceiling!

when you go and run and play

All matter is made of tiny atoms,
that you can’t see
and each atom like me
has smaller parts
called electrons
Electricity is made
by the movement

from one atom
to another

are made of these things
atoms have even smaller parts too!

neutrons,
and electrons, it’s true!

Electrons have a negative charge,

and they usually stay in their place

around the atom’s center.
however there’s a case
where electrons are displaced
and moved from their space
pushed and pulled
from their atoms they jump
and race
and the shock on your face!
shows that you know this place!

the atoms created a flow
called electric current
now you know!

Currently as we sing about Electricity
There is the type of electricity
that runs in a current, but it’s not water,
it’s something that’s extremely hotter!
a continuous path of zip! zap! zoom!

called a circuit, oh boy!
it’s the electricity that powers your home
or a battery-powered toy

this is God’s power on display!
the power of it is beyond what people can say!
it’s power is impossible to measure!
and we are God’s creation!
made for his good pleasure!
During a thunderstorm,
a massive surge
which can’t be rated
of electricity can jump between clouds and the ground
electricity lives all around!
and as GOD creates the spark inside
the spark is a light that we can’t hide
we will pass this spark to those we know
and the love we have for God will show!
