God created the world
and everything inside,
he made man and woman
and they did abide
They walked with him
and they talked too
God taught these people
what to do
he gave them a garden
Eden was their home
and they lived together
they were never alone

God told them
one important rule
this was their lesson
their type of school
they could eat from any tree,
but not the one
in the middle, you see
the Tree of Knowledge.
of good and evil

do not eat of this tree
this one will
bring you sin and shame
you must honor my powerful name
do not eat of this tree
you must love and obey me
if you disobey my command
you will die,
do you understand?

The serpent told an evil lie:
the devil tricked Eve
by saying the fruit
would make her wise,
and would not bring
them utter demise

God said to honor Him each day
you must listen and obey
will you love Him, what will you do?
your actions will show Him what is true

Eve gave in
and she ate some
Eve ate the fruit
and shared with adam
and they both ate
and disobeyed
they didn’t listen
the price they paid
was the result of
a choice they made

God said to honor Him each day

They became ashamed
and tried to hide
but God could see
and they cried
and tried to blame
the sneaky snake
but the sinful choice
was theirs to make
and they could choose
to walk away
but now they have
a price to pay

now from the ground
they must toil and churn
through weeds and seeds
and sin and shame
because they didn’t
honor HIs name
As their punishment
now work hard and earn
they had to leave the garden.
and never return

God said to honor Him each day
you must listen and obey
will you love Him, what will you do?
your actions will show Him what is true

Even though
they were sent away,
God still loved them
and promised one day
he would pay their price
they couldn’t pay
and so with faith
God’s promise remains today
your faith too
can be in God if you say
I love you Lord and I will obey
