But Man has a big problem: We have all sinned and rebelled against God who created us.
Isaiah 59:1–4 NKJV (slightly edited)
1 Behold, the LORD’s hand is not too short to save you. Nor His ear deaf, that He cannot hear you. 2 But your iniquities have separated you from your God; and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear. 3 For your hands are defiled with sin, and your fingers are full of iniquity. Your lips have spoken lies, and your tongue has muttered perversity. 4 No one calls for justice, nor does anyone plead for the truth. Instead, they all trust in empty words and speak lies. They all conceive evil and bring forth iniquity.
Romans 3:10-12, 20 NKJV (slightly edited)
10 As it is written: “There is no one who is righteous, no, not one;
11 There is no one who understands; There is no one who seeks after God. 12 They have all turned aside; They have together become unprofitable; There is no one who does good, no, not one.”
20 Therefore no one will be justified in God’s sight by their own good deeds of the law, for God’s law reveals how sinful we truly are.
Nevertheless, God never gave up on man. God became a man, in the person of Jesus, to save us from our sinful rebellion against God.
God demonstrates His great love for us, in that even while we were still sinners, Jesus Christ died for us. For when we were still without strength, Christ died for ungodly sinners.
Now if we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son Jesus when we were enemies rebelling against God, how much more, now that we have been reconciled, shall we be saved by Jesus life!
Therefore, just as all humans inherited sin and death – through one man named Adam. How much more will the obedience of one Man, Jesus Christ, cause God’s grace and the gift of salvation to abound to many.
