The reason for Valentine’s day
it’s all about a brave
Christian man
shining for Jesus
in a very special way

In two-hundred and seventy, after Christ,
Emperor Claudius, the Second
who was “Claudius the Cruel”
enforced a mean and brutal rule
he believed unmarried men
made better warriors in battle
so he banned marriage.
like men were cattle

A priest named Valentine
knew that Claudius was outta’
his mind
he knew this law was really unfair
and he secretly married couples
everywhere!

When the Emperor found out,
he began to shout
“arrest that outlaw!”
and arrest him Claudius did,
Valentine was arrested.
While in jail
love did prevail
he fell in love with the jailer’s blind daughter

Valentine prayed that God
would heal her eyes,
and to everyone’s shock
and surprise
God allowed the girl
to see once more
her sight was given
fully restored

before Valentine
was martyred for his faith
and defending the command of God
He wrote a note
full of love
and this is what he wrote,
“From your Valentine”

that’s why we honor
share love and
good cheer
every february fourteenth
every year

It’s a special day full of bravery and honor
full of miracles and Jesus
those are Faith-filled,
the answers to the “why’s”
we will never forget
we have opened up our eyes
