This is a copy of the email I sent to our local government. If we sit and do nothing, there will be nothing left for our children. DO SOMETHING PEOPLE. Use your voice. Why sit and wait for someone else to fight back. We need to act to save our friends, neighbours, families, livelihood. Our voices matter, we have democracy, we have justice, we live in a free country. We must protect those rights!

I will begin by quoting the First Amendment of the United States of America – of which you may not work against. Any action made to prevent any individual or business upholding their First Amendment Rights is against the law and may not be held up in court.

AMENDMENT I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

We the people demand the government – appointed by the people to stop attacking innocent citizens who – just like you (working in your government offices and have not been shut down for one day) require income to survive.  All people want to do is work, and work safely, under the new guidelines and allow us to have the means of survival.  

We are all people, each person has the right to survival. How can we survive if you take away our right to earn money – and not how you deem necessary – how we choose. If we want to open a business, we can. We can be creative, we can be successful – without the government telling us how to do so. Entrepreneurial passion is what this country thrives on.

However, government management of Covid-19 is killing small businesses and allows large corporations to thrive.

All citizens of the United States are given the rights to liberty, justice and freedom.  We are being repressed for undue reason.  Compliance to new directives has allowed large corporations like Costco, Home Depot and Grocery Stores to remain open without having to close, yet the local government – appointed by the people – for the people – has decided that small businesses, most specifically local restaurants and retail stores – must be closed whenever you choose, for whatever reason.  

All of the small businesses comply to health orders – even more so than the large corporations.  Large Chain Stores are not required to count people entering their stores, they are not required to shut down at all.  Now we demand an explanation. We demand equal treatment. We demand consistency and common sense directives.

The treatment of COVID has been unprecedentedly insane. No act of shutting down – especially closing outdoor activities has been logical or supported by the people. We are a government by the people, for the people, lest we forget.

We are trending towards allowing ourselves to be ruled by an Emperor, just like Communist China and I refuse to do nothing to stop it. We must speak up now and stop the tyranny.

COVID has attacked more families financially than it has physically.  The government is crushing people, generating fear everywhere we look.  

All we want is to honestly and respectively earn money, to support one another locally, keep each other safe by spending our money in our local towns and see the people face to face that we support.  Family run businesses are special, they are dynamic, they are loved and they are treasured.  We must protect them. We demand your support because that is what we hired you to do.

So, because you are an assembly, who has been voted in by all of us – the people of San Diego – and you are there to protect us – the individuals, the business owners, the patrons, the employees, the entrepreneurs, the moms and dads, the children, the elderly – you need to listen to us.  That is your job.  That is why we hired you, pay our taxes and vote you into the seat you sit in everyday. 

So fight for us.  Stand up against the higher government who is pressuring you to fight against us.  You wanted this position because you were brave and you wanted to make a difference.  So do it.  Let us survive and feed our families.
