There is Power in the name of JESUS!

Don’t ever tell me tools don’t belong

Inside my hands with fists so strong.

I look at projects and say, “I can”

Even though I’m definitely not a man

I can do what I can do

And I might not fill half his shoe

But God made me determined strong

And so if you say that I am wrong

I’ll pick up that mallet and swing away

And those bricks will fall like piles of clay!

Cause God made Me determined strong

Now excuse me here, don’t get me wrong

I’m proud to be a woman, not a man

I know my role and God’s true plan

I’m not trying to take the glory

Of what men do, that’s not my story.

My hair tied back upon my head,

painted toes, painted red

skinny jeans, shirt just right

my muscles bound, body tight

I am a woman, curves and dips

I am not weak, I have strong hips

This race is blessed cause I am here

Now sit back and watch me rear

this heavy mallet, I swing so fast

I smash the bricks, that fall and rest

the powerful blast, dust in the air

throw back my shoulders,

let down my hair.

I am a girl, now hear me roar

listen to my words as they do soar

far above what I thought I could do

because I heard, no dear, not you

when I was young, you’re just a girl

Now that thought makes my lip curl

so I smash a little harder

I say this girls, so you live smarter

What I’m saying is that I have pride

In what THIS woman does provide

I see my husband, his solid stride

I thrive with him, his perfect bride

And march along and I don’t hide

When others say CAN’T, I push aside

And show them all with strength inside

What the Lord on High designed in me,

I’ll be anything He wants me to be!

Plus, it relieves so much stress

When daily routine gives me unrest

I go outside and swing away

And SMASH the troubles of my day!

So don’t let anyone tell you, dear,

That tools aren’t made for you to rear.

Pick up a tool, use its power

And be a girl who doesn’t cower

Under the shadow of a man

Do all the things you know you can!

Philippians 4:13

“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”

We have decided to tackle our back yard with a fierce remodel task.  Right now in Southern California I am surrounded by dirt.  I can’t remember the last time it rained.  I want the back yard to be beautiful and green, so I am smashing, building, digging, planting, growing, and getting so dirty!!!!

“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”

When we first moved into this house I had never touched a tool in my life.  I was told that they were not for me.  Too Dangerous.  Too Powerful.  Too Scary.  Just for Men.  Guess what.  I use every single tool that my husband uses here at this house.  Every single one.  Chainsaws, hammers, all of our power tools, the lawn mower, circular saws, I knock things down, rip them apart, put them together and create masterpieces with my two hands.  I love it!

“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”

It makes me so happy to work in my yard.  So happy that I didn’t even realize until I actually had a dream that I could fly a couple of nights ago!  PRAISE!!!

“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”

Have I told you that I love my job?  I love so many things about being a stay at home mom.  I am the world’s most successful entrepreneur.  Do you know why I am successful?  Because I do whatever I want to do every single day!  I make the choice to do productive, innovative, and creative things with my time and that is so fulfilling.  I already accomplished a lot today, designed a shirt, sewn a baby blanket for a friend and written a rhyme that screams the strength of a woman, God’s great creation!  It’s only 7:30 am.

“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”

That’s what I can do: through Christ who gives ME strength.  Hold true to God’s promises, live your mantra.  Make today count.

Do all things for Christ,

allow Him to give you strength.

And in a collective ROAR we announce,

WE ARE STRONG!
