Forgiveness
a pondering
I rejected
understanding
holding on
entitled pain
forgiveness what?
so troubling.
IF I forgive
then, they win
all for not
horrid sin
why did I
suffer for
things they lack
and do some more…idiots
shrug, not me…
I’m not forgiving.
leave me be.
forgive that?
sick inside
forgive that?
rotten mind
forgive that?
next level sin
forgive that?
dark within
forgive that?
no one can
forgive that?
superman?!?!
Here’s the answer that enlightened me
remember friend, Christ died on a tree
shook the earth with His sacrifice
gave us the gift of eternal life
we’re ONLY bound by a solid choice
ask for forgiveness and accept his voice
Come unto me, my precious child
you are forgiven, reconciled
so as I forgive, you MUST too.
that’s my command, do what I do.
What?
I have to forgive, like You forgave me?
that’s too hard, that can’t be?!
quiet mind. Let’s try again.
shut off self, not my friend.
HE forgave you
on a cross
HE forgave you
all was lost
HE forgave you
servantude
HE forgave you
the magnitude
of sacrifice
nothing can
pay that price
to over come
what HE gave
no sin is greater
balance weighed
wait till later?
you’re not special
you’re not greater
you can’t battle
a sin innovator
He took away
the power of sin
when He died
displayed, “I win”
so you think
your pain is greater
you can’t forgive
earthly dictator
what happened to you
deserves much more
pain deceiver
must settle the score
MUCH GREATER THAN THE CROSS?
MUCH GREATER THAN THAT LOSS?
MUCH GREATER THAN CRUCIFIXION?
MUCH GREATER THAN RETRIBUTION?
yet, I scream.
forgiveness? NO!
I can’t give pain away
I can’t let it go
pain will stay
STILL, HE forgave
everything
and He commanded
as our King
you will too
you must forgive
do as I do
in order to live
it’s not a joke
or a “maybe rule”
it’s a command
with Heaven’s jewel
FORGIVE
or you will not be forgiven
are you kidding?
obey His bidding
Colossians 3:13 – bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.
I committed a Christian crime
living in grey
so sublime
holding on
to strings of sin
withering away
future dim
those strings are weak
made by man
snapping quickly
so I can
end up losing
playing my own rule
turning my back
actin’ a fool
forgiveness – a conscious, deliberate decision to release feelings of resentment or vengeance toward a person or group who has harmed you, regardless of whether they actually deserve your forgiveness. … Forgiveness does not mean forgetting, nor does it mean condoning or excusing offenses.
It means we give to GOD what we can’t understand. Give it to God all the forgiveness is in HIS scarred hands. FOR – GIVE. Go forward in your life – and Give to GOD all the sin YOU HAVE DONE and has been done to you. Look at life as a reflection – not as a mirror. You need to see yourself, and not everyone else – focus on what you can control and what you are doing not what you can’t and what everyone else is… Give it to God. For-give.
It doesn’t mean
you let them back
fully clean
ready to attack
hurt again
illogical act
keep them away
and give to GOD
the sin and stay
safely within
His precious love
give to God
what belongs above.
You don’t need
it in your head
stealing joy
faces red
give to God
when memory tries
to sneaky say
Devil’s lies
get on your knees
stop what your doing
firmly planted
in His promise
Forgiveness GRANTED!
say NO WAY!
I forgave
gave away
Jesus SAVED!
all the burdens
of the past
replace it with
this, that lasts
more powerful than
the sad before
now I say
HE settled the score
I won’t lose
anymore
he won for me
joy once more
give away
all your pains
forgive and give
to God the stains
he will carry
your heavy load
always ready
when your road
get’s bumpy again
you stumble
and fall
that’s life folks
that is all.
Forgiveness now means the act of giving to God what I can’t understand or control. Giving to God the sinful acts of this earthly life so I can enjoy an eternity with Him in Heaven.
Dear Lord, please forgive me, I give you the sin that has been done to me. I am thankful for the ability to understand forgiveness. I am also thankful for the constant reminder that life here is fragile and full of sin, I am not above it, but YOU are. I give you my pain, and allow you the ability to even the score. I don’t hold anything in my own hands – I give it to you. You are greater, you understand and you allow things so that I will fall on my knees and worship you. Heaven is greater than Earth, I will keep my eyes focused on YOU, on your healing and your promises of inexplicable Glory and eternity with you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
There, Vivian. I finally understand forgiveness. Thank you for your prayers. How powerful when two Christian’s join together in prayer, what answers are given. God is so good all the time, and all the time, God is SO, SO, SO good.
I’m so elated that Jesus has held you and helped you work through this hard, hard thing dear Katie! Oh, I want to give you a big hug right now because forgiveness has set us both free. I too have wrestled with the hurt, and then Satan tries to dig up old bones again. I’m so sorry for whoever hurt you and the pain that ran deep but like you said in your poem, forgiveness doesn’t mean letting them back in again, so they can take another shot at you. I still believe in boundaries too. I am very thankful and grateful we could pray for one another and for God’s power in helping us forgive. It’s so hard at times but God’s so much bigger and always helps us. I think for me, my problem was not really wanting for forgive because like you wrote, it feels like they’ve won. But, actually we win when we forgive. It’s a beaitiful thing! Big hugs Katie. With God’s help, we made it!🤗😚😢

So powerful!! YES, big hugs!!
Honestly Katie, I am just emerging from the deep waters of unforgiveness and still feel vulnerable to the whole subject. But, God is faithful and I’m growing too. I’m thankful we can help eachother in the Lord.
Awwww, I love that song!! God bless you too and lots of love.
