2 Thessalonians 1:11-12

 With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may bring to fruition your every desire for goodness and your every deed prompted by faith.  We pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

 

Are you awake?

Or are you still snoozing?

Are you patiently waiting

For Him to be choosing?

for God to be telling

you this and all that?

are you napping on life

gluttony, fat?

 

A Christian by word

But by action, much less

Are you a visual saint

But inside, a mess?

 

Are you living a life

with each step towards HIM?

Eternity’s splendor

or is your light getting dim?

 

Don’t wait around twiddling

sad, stumpy thumbs

Get up and start giving

and not just your crumbs.

 

Today is the day,

no matter the past!

Today is the day

To make change that will last!

Today is the day

GOD wants you to act!

Today is the day

And that is a fact!

 

You decide to live

full of HIS glory

You decide that the past

a chapter, a story

Your present is that

a gift from the LORD

so get up and go

and be awake n’ run toward

All the THINGS you can do

to bring others HIS way,

No, there is no act

that could ever REPAY

The act that once let

us all go to Heaven

remember be humble

every day out of seven

 

Always be thankful

share ALL of His story

it’s written so full

the happy, the gory

so that we know

Earth isn’t Glory

 

and the story is not

for those that are just

the story is for lost

imperfect, to trust

that life is messy

sin rules down here

and as long as we have faith

there is no reason to fear

I am not perfect

I am not clean

I am not worthy

I am still seen

as loved

as forgiven

a daughter

as given

a brand new life

a new place I can go

and joy everlasting

so that I can show

others the answer

the one that can save

any human on earth

as long as you’re brave

brave enough

to open your mind

to hear that you’re worthy

as long as you find

that you can say change me

change me from the inside out

and you will receive Him

of this – there’s no doubt

 

We need to crave

God above all

as we walk through this life

when we stumble n’ fall

yet, on the ground

is when I feel Him

His mercy unending

his voice in a Hymn

praise you Dear Lord

for that scar on my knee

cause now I am here

where I never thought I’d be

 

Don’t just think in your head

What will I do today?

Let the whisper of Love

be something you SAY

 

kindness doesn’t cost

a single sweet penny

be kind, be loving,

that is just plenty

be more than yesterday

be great, be brave

be ready today

be willing to save

others that wander

lost, sad and scared

do what you must

be more, cause you dared

you to live out your best

be actively true

giving each moment

our all, just for YOU!
